Our pet and our dear, loyal friend

Gazoo

After 13 years of being our pet and, honest to god, one of my closest friends, our cat Gazoo passed away this past week (June 5th, 2002). He had been suffering and as hard as it was, it was best for us to put him down rather than let him suffer away. Gazoo was 12, turning 13 on the 7th of June, and lived a great life with us, anyone that has met my cat will have fond memories of him, for most he will be known as one of the most friendly cats.

Gazoo really was one of the greatest pets ive ever seen, he never bit anyone (except for me) and was always the class act around everyone. Ever since I can remember, Gazoo has been the greatest friend to me, always there to hear my bad day or great accomplishments. For many years he was my only shoulder to lean on and I always had to feeling that he knew when I was in pain because whenever I was, he would be near.

When I heard the news he had been put down I didn't wanna believe it, I had just been with him hours prior and it was sureal. Eventually the realization came into focus and came the time to mourn. I wasn't so much sad at the fact that he had passed away as much as I was sad at the fact he had passed away without one of us by his side. Later the woman that had helped us with Gazoo asked if I would like to do something for him and I naturally said yes. Today we went out to some land of her brothers and I buried Gazoo. This was hands down the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, but I couldnt of lived with myself if I hadn't, so I dug his grave, kissed his head and placed him in his resting place, said a prayer, asked for his forgivness for not being with him when he passed and covered him...in a way it felt good to have some closure on it, but in another it hurt more than anything in the world to cover that grave. I just hope he's happy now...and that he knows that we all loved him and will NEVER 4get him EVER.
